The French architect Jean Nouvel has delivered early February in Los Angeles (USA) to present its first project in California: a 45-storey building located near the district of Century City on Santa Monica Boulevard, and capable of house 177 luxury apartments. The architecture firm Rios Clementi associated locally called Hale Studios.
By its shape, its smoothness and transparency, the building looks like a huge plate glass drawn vertically (182 m high, 99 meters long and 15 m wide), protected from overheating by tree canopy. “Each residence is designed like a house in the sky, surrounded by an abundance of plants and flowers, but no visual boundary of the city, mountains and ocean,” Nouvel said the newspaper Los Angeles Times “dated February 8. “From the boulevard, the building will look like a vertical garden,” he added.
