Chemicals Pest Controls

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

Chemicals Pest ControlsMaintaining a garden can be highly therapeutic. Plus, it also adds to the beauty and value of your home. However, with your garden the flowers, shrubs, trees and fruits also come insects. While there are some that can be quite helpful, there are also others that cause harm and disease to the plants. Chemical pest control has been in use for many decades. You can use the pest controls service in your are. As an example, if you life in Dallas, you can contact Pest Control Dallas. If you stay at Southlake, you can call Pest Control Southlake service. Is the same if you living at Keller. Just contact Pest Control Keller agency. They will explain more to you about chemical pest controls.

Chemical pest control is quite effective, since they are formulated to target a different variety of pests. There are also a wide variety of choices as well, since the EPA has permitted the use of more than 200 pesticides that may be used for garden and lawn care. Chemical pesticides are also convenient to use, since they come in different forms, including pellets, powders and liquid sprays.

Although efficient and easy to use, chemical pest control also has several disadvantages to their use. These chemicals often have very strong formulations in order to be more effective in killing stubborn pests. The only problem is that they are often not kind to the environment. If used in large amounts, they could seep into the ground and contaminate groundwater. If you live near a river, stream or pond, for example, you could contaminate these bodies of water without knowing it. As a result, other living organisms in those areas are affected as well.

There are also health hazards associated with chemicals used for pest control. They have been blamed for many illnesses and diseases, including cancer, kidney and liver damage, disorders in the nervous system and even birth defects. Furthermore, they are quite dangerous for wildlife, affecting their habitats and their young. And yes, if chemical pest control agents are not used properly, they can also affect pets.

Renewable Energy Development

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

nly 10 – 15 years ago the world’s energy supply was heading towards disaster with resources being soaked up at faster and faster rates, reserves being used and prices on the rise. But this was only half the story with a much more insidious potential disaster lurking in our frighteningly near future. Carbon emissions and their effect on global warming are directly caused by the out of control burning of fossil fuels used to create electricity, power transport and heat our homes.

Renewable Energy Development tracks this growth, detailing new and proposed projects that have been undertaken around the world. These new developments can be found listed on the pages of the respective renewable energy sources.

When we talk about advancements in renewable energy we are focusing largely on 6 main areas, namely Solar Energy, Wind Power, Tidal Energy, Geothermal Energy, Biomass and Wave Power. There is another energy source that can be classed as renewable but is not included in this discussion and that is hydro-electric power. The reason that hydro-electricity is not included here is that it is a mature industry that has largely been fully developed rendering it a conventional energy source rather than alternative. The environmental and regulatory issues surrounding possible new hydro-electricity sites prevent most of the possible new sites from being developed.

What Is Renewable Energy?

Renewable energy is any source of energy that can be used without depleting its reserves. It is distinct from alternative energy because alternative energy may or may not be renewable. It is also distinct from ‘green’ energy which refers to clean, low or nonpolluting energy such as solar and wind power. Renewable energy simply refers to the fact that the sources used to create power can replenish themselves. These sources include sun, wind, biomass and hydro energy.

Each of these energy sources can be harnessed to varying degrees and at varying costs. For the purpose of this article, nuclear energy will be regarded as a non-renewable energy source because, although uranium is not a fossil fuel, it is a finite resource and its reserves are depleted through use.

It’s important to remember that all energy production has an effect on our environment to some extent. Some adverse effects are created in the manufacture , operation or disposal of each of the generating facilities for even the lowest polluting renewable energy. For example, photovoltaic cell manufacture sometimes involves hazardous materials like arsenic and cadmium.

It should be acknowledged that no single renewable energy solution is going to provide a complete answer. At this stage in the technological advancement that is being experienced there is still a great deal of work to do before the sun, ocean and earth can be relied upon to provide a significant share of our energy needs.

However, the ratio is slowly shifting in the right direction. Every megawatt of electricity supplied by a solar energy power plant is a megawatt less that is required to be produced by a coal powered power station. Wind power has grown over the last 5 years at an annual average rate of 25% and that promises to continue. Solar energy is still meeting only a tiny fraction of the world’s energy needs yet it is the energy source that has enjoyed the greatest growth and continues to promise tremendous potential. Wave energy is still in its mewling infancy with most power plants still in the experimental or demonstration phases with numerous projects still trying to prove that the world’s oceans can provide us with another sustainable source of power.

The Psychology of Motivation – Driving Your Sales Team

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

One of the biggest challenges facing Sales Managers today is motivating and retaining employees. Motivation is an organization’s life-blood; yet “motivation,” as a business subject, is largely ignored. Motivated employees are needed in rapidly changing workplaces. Motivated sales teams help organizations survive simply because they are more productive. Seldom is a clear, coherent, and overall approach taken to the challenge of motivating people. Most organizations don’t give it much thought until something starts to go wrong.

There are many variables that will motivate employees to continue working towards new levels of satisfaction. Money becomes less of an issue as an employee’s income becomes higher. As an employee ages, work that is interesting is more of a factor.

Abraham Maslow was an American psychologist who pioneered humanistic counseling methods. He also came up with the term “trans-personal psychology”. He theorized that a person’s need to develop their basic potential can transcend other factors that seem more obvious.

Maslow made an important contribution to psychology when he pioneered “Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.” This five tier model explains human needs in terms of how much value they assign them, thereby shedding much light on what motivates certain people to seek out certain positions. Sales Resource professionals can use this information to decide how to use the basic components of human nature most effectively.

The first tier which is defined as physiological needs, relates to the need for survival, food, water and shelter, and is the most prominent need to shape man’s motivation. Maslow believes people attempt to satisfy these needs in a specific order. A person will strive to meet physiological needs before addressing needs for safety, love, and so forth.

The first four needs, which Maslow considered to be “deficiency needs”, stop providing motivation when satisfied, and the final need – self-actualization – is a “being need” or “growth need” which drives behavior throughout a person’s life. A business seeking a well-motivated workforce should continually provide opportunities for employees to meet self-actualization needs.

There are two popular schools of thoughts behind the concept of self actualization. According to one school, we are always in pursuit of achieving self-actualization and the other school propounds that we do achieve the temporary self actualization but the moment we accomplish that we set another goal and start putting the effort to actualize that goal. Those who strive to realize their potential are looking for such opportunity and position from where their idea can take a concrete shape and blossom to prosper.

A Reexamine of Flowing Condo Marketplace Inventories in Miami Beach

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

The city of Miami Beach is one of the United States’ most fashionable and one of the truly coveted destinations. The city is a famous tourist, fashion and entertainment, film, fine dining and premier arts and culture destination. However, nothing best defines the city’s characteristic more than the unique, highly artistic, architectural landscape being painted by Miami Beach condos and South Beach condos.

Miami Beach is known as an International Mecca for travel, business and to establish a home. From its small hotels with unique designs that line up along lower Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive, to its major upmarket hotel chains along the beach.

The City Has Had Its Fair Share Of Condo Boom Times

The area’s extensive redevelopment has catapulted it into the higher levels of real estate in South Florida and the US as well, more so with the place being a well-known bastion of consumerism and all-out hedonism, with it’s thriving party, celebrity scene, and entertainment scene.

The city’s real estate investment options include ready for occupancy condominiums, and are setting the benchmarks when it comes to the building of elegant, sophisticated and amenity-filled condo developments. The area’s most prolific developers, renowned architects and hippest designers are making their mark on the city’s eclectic lifestyle, one that best describes the art of indulgence and opulence.

Current Condo Prices For The City

According to local real estate analysts, the average condo prices based on October, 2007 levels for each of the city’s districts are the following: Miami Beach – $496,000; West Avenue – $463,060; Star, Palm and Hibiscus Islands – $2,788,143; Downtown Miami – $555,590; Biscayne Corridor and Wynwood, Edgewater – $448,487.

Local property analysts further noted that during the month of November, 2007, the average time needed to sell a condo in Miami Beach was 153 days.

Have Condo Supply Levels Dropped?

From a more wider perspective, the city of Miami Beach saw a 19 percent slide in its condominium levels since last month. Miami Beach did not come close to experiencing the level of development that we recently saw in Miami.

Most of overseas and out-of-state home buyers are also more likely to purchase a condo unit in this city than they are somewhere in the Miami-Dade area. Many think that the city will continue to see an increasing gap between the Miami and Miami Beach condo supply figures in the months ahead.

Over the years, tourism has been the city’s major economic driving force; however today, the area’s economy is diverse today. In recent years, it has expanded way beyond its traditional tourism-based cash cow, and has reinvented itself to become a multi-faceted real estate, entertainment, culture, health care and tourism center. This is an area where nearly 95,000 residents live, work, shop, go to school, have fun and go dining, and do many leisure activities.

The city’s cultural scene is diverse, and takes pride itself in having the Miami City Ballet and the New World Symphony. Though the city’s geographic borders are set, its economic growth is booming, and many public works investments, like the proposed Baylink project, that is expected to create a mass transit connection between Miami Beach and the mainland Miami area, continues to reinvigorate the area.

Watch Your Mouth: Persuasive Oration

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

Language is a skill and an art, as is persuasion, and both can most definitely be mangled and turned into a disadvantage if used improperly. Unless you’re a child prodigy, as Mozart was with composing and playing music, as H.P. Lovecraft was with writing poems, and as Pablo Picasso was artistically, then you will most likely have to practice whichever art you choose to become good at.

As persuaders we primarily use our language skills to work with our affluent prospects and clients. We are served well when we use these language properly and speak powerfully.

It’s likely that the more you read, the bigger your vocabulary (unless you’re only reading, say, People Magazine or one very precise genre with limited language specific to that type). One of the most valuable things you can do to increase your vocabulary, is read.

Even with a huge vocabulary, you might not be blessed with the gift of oratory skills. There’s first the fear of public speaking to overcome (if you’re one of the majority of people who have this fear). And once you overcome this fear, then there’s the issue of having something of value or interest to say.

Okay, now you’ve got your vocabulary, you’ve overcome the fear of public speaking, you have something interesting and valuable to impart to your audience. . . now you have to deal with the delivery.

I was chatting with my transcriptionist recently and she told me that I use the phrase ‘in other words’ a lot. I do use this phrase a lot and I think part of the reason is because when I’m teaching I am always looking for new ways to say something, delivering the message in as many ways as possible for maximum understanding. I also don’t use the word ‘um’ and ‘in other words’ is possibly taking up the place of that as a way to stall.

“Um. . . Slips, Stumbles and Verbal Blunders and What They Mean” by Michael Erard is a great new book about language. I learned something amazing in the first few pages. Since as far back as the Ancient Egyptians and Greeks, some form of ‘um’ has been used in all languages. It’s universal. The French say ‘euh’, in Spain it’s ‘eh’. So it’s safe to say that this is an innate human characteristic.

It’s only been in since the twentieth century that ‘um. . .’ has become unpopular with academics and teachers, most likely coinciding with television and radio.

‘Um. . .’ (the book) starts out with the transcriptionists of the Federal News Service. They’re the ones that do the closed captions for the hearing impaired. The style guidelines of the FNS state that all of the ‘umms’ and ‘uhs’ and ‘ahs’ and ‘ers’ are left out, false starts of one or two words are left out, and partial words are left out. The one exception is: policymakers. . .everything a policymaker says is typed out verbatim.

I haven’t finished the book yet, but I couldn’t stop myself from skipping to the chapter on George W. Bush. It’s not as funny as the book ‘Bushisms’ but it is an interesting perspective. People view him, as a result of what the author calls ‘disfluencies’, either as ‘down home’, ‘one of the common people’, with his gaffes making him appear more accessible, others consider his blunders a lack of intelligence and a dangerous indication that he is not connected to reality. Regardless of which side of the argument you fall, some of the more memorable disfluencies are pretty funny.

This week pay attention to the way you talk. See how many ums, uhs, false starts, stumbles, gaffes and blunders you make. And pay attention to the way other people talk. Is there a secretary in your office who uses ‘like’ every other word, or an associate who constantly stumbles? How do you perceive them?
